Standard, Honors, AP, and University Tutoring
High School-Level
Standard Chem I & II
Standard
Standard chemistry in high school usually consists of a strong focus on the periodic table, naming compounds, addressing chemical reaction equations and looking at macroscopic properties based on chemical composition. These classes typically vary widely and so I’m happy to help you work on the material you need that is specific to your class. I can help you on assignments, prepare for tests, and teach topics you may have missed or are unsure on. I usually take a look at students’ work and syllabi in the class to see what their specific classes are covering and tailor an approach based on this. Contact me as I’d love to work with you!
Honors Chem I & II
Honors
Honors chemistry usually works more rigorously through the concepts of standard chemistry (especially the periodic table and chemical reaction analysis) with more calculations as well. Students can expect to spend more time with stoichiometry and reaction calculations and also dive into specific reaction types including combustion reactions and acid-base interactions. Labs are also often introduced.
AP Chemistry
I was the only sophomore in my class to score a 5 on the AP chemistry test back in high school. I can assist in preparing for the test and acing all of the concepts along the way so that you’re completely comfortable with the process of solving AP chemistry problems. I have taught the material before and can provide the best techniques and ways of thinking to make the work as simple and understandable as possible!
College-Level
General Chemistry I & II
I regularly work with college students (whether first-time college students or adults returning back to school) and am prepared to help you as well! I can review assignments and homework with you in addition to helping you study and prepare for tests. The college curriculum for General Chemistry is very similar to that of AP Chemistry with a stronger focus on labs and applications of the material. Therefore, getting a good foundation in the concepts is crucial to doing well in the class and I can provide that insight!
